Toothpick, Lisbon, and the Orcas Islands [Vol. 3, No. 5]

(Ed.) Bruce Andrews

A special number of Michael Wiater's magazine (Seattle, Washington), the Fall 1973 Toothpick was edited by Bruce Andrews, based on the eclectic and provocative editorial model of Vito Acconci and Bernadette Mayer's 0 -9. 11 x 8.5 inches. Spiral bound. Inverted page sequencing. Transparent plastic covers over illustrations by Andrews and Ron Silliman.

Toothpick was bound with its pages sequenced in both directions; at the half-way point, the volume needed to be flipped vertically to keep the pages from appearing upside down. In its formatting here, the half-way point [leaf 40] begins again with the other cover and proceeds sequentially from there.
